Mom is sleeping now

On September 29, 2012, mom went peacefully to sleep in her beautiful room at Sunnybrook Adult Family Home. I was able to be with her and sang and hummed songs while she slipped off to sleep. She was not able to respond but I know she heard me. That was the end of a very long, painful journey for her. For the past five years she suffered dementia and blindness from glaucoma, as well as much pain in her back. But through it all she remained sweet and thankful for her blessings and always had a kind word for those around her. The thing she loved most was hearing about her family, especially her grandkids. She was very proud of them and relished each new accomplishment and life event that was shared with her. She blessed many people during her lifetime, as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, school teacher, girls' dean, nurse and librarian. She will be greatly missed, and joyfully reunited with those who love her at Jesus' return.
